Introduction
Celebrate any occasion with this vibrant Funfetti Birthday Cake! Bursting with colorful sprinkles and topped with creamy buttercream frosting, it’s the ultimate party dessert. This moist and fluffy cake is easy to make and guaranteed to bring smiles all around.

Ingredients
For the Cake:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup rainbow sprinkles

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2–4 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Additional sprinkles for decoration

Preparation Steps

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in Sprinkles: Gently fold in the sprinkles, being careful not to overmix to prevent colors from bleeding.
  7. Bake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Prepare Frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and fluffy.
  9. Assemble the Cake: Spread a layer of frosting on top of one cake layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the entire cake. Decorate with additional sprinkles.
  10. Serve and Celebrate: Slice, serve, and enjoy!
